Emerald International and Colombo District Women’s Cricket Association Celebrate Runn T10 Championship

Organized by the Colombo District Women’s Cricket Association to mark its 27th-anniversary celebration, the tournament unfolded at the prestigious St. Anthony’s College playground in Wattala.

The championship aimed to elevate the prowess of young Sri Lankan women cricketers, guiding them toward their next cricketing milestones. Eight formidable Women’s Club teams from across the country showcased their talents in the fast-paced T10 format. Ranweli SC from Gampaha emerged as the champions, displaying exceptional skill and determination. Kalutara PCC from Kalutara secured the runner-up position, while Monarch SC from Horana claimed the second runner-up spot.

The winning and runner-up teams received Runn Championship trophies and gift cheques for the entire team. Additionally, individual performers were recognized with nine awards, each accompanied by valuable gift vouchers from Runn. These outstanding performances have opened doors for players to join top clubs and become eligible for selections to the Sri Lanka Women’s A team.
