The Faculty of Brands launches mission to put Sri Lanka on global creative map

The Faculty of Brands launched an event on March 9, attended by members of Sri Lanka’s marketing and advertising industry, marking the start of its efforts to drive collaboration with global and local experts and industry bodies to bring much needed practical marketing and branding knowledge to the industry.

The initiative aims to build the confidence and capability needed to position Sri Lanka as a formidable force in the world of creativity

The Faculty of Brands Chief Executive Officer Gayendra Rajapaksha, said; “At The Faculty of Brands, we believe that Sri Lanka has more than enough talent to shine on the global stage. If our country’s stories and our brands’ stories are crafted the right way, they can play a powerful role in uplifting our economy. But between where we are today and that stage, there is something very important we need to build.”

“Our goal is to make that journey a little easier by sharing practical knowledge in digestible and curated formats so that professionals and industry teams can continuously learn, grow and strengthen that belief that we can compete globally.”

The launch event also marked the beginning of a collaboration with Teodora Migdolovici, founder of The Alternative School Creative MBA programme, an award-winning brand consultant, educational practitioner, lobbyist and private diplomat. She pioneered the Creative MBA concept, launched globally in 2015. The programme has since become one of Eastern Europe’s most respected fast-paced learning platforms for professionals in branding, marketing, communication, and design seeking to operate at an international level.

During her visit to Sri Lanka, Teodora Migdolovici conducted a two-day curated workshop for a private client. As the first initiative under the collaboration with The Alternative School Creative MBA, The Faculty of Brands hosted two workshops with Teodora Migdolovici on March 10-12, at Hilton Colombo Residences.

The Faculty of Brands is led by Gayendra Rajapaksha, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder and Yasith Deshapriya, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder. Together they bring over 13 years of experience in marketing and more than 16 years of experience in operations and logistics, combining their expertise to advance a shared mission of elevating Sri Lanka’s brand and creative capability.
